Arkansas

Arkansas just starting to turn...

We went to War Eagle, any of you who know me well knows what Ware Eagle is........ the
biggest, best Craft show around. Around 1,000 booths and it takes better part of a whole day to
walk it.
It was nice and warm that day and Manuel's mom went with us and we walked her legs off. The leaves were starting to turn to some beautiful colors.

SUPERMAN -

Well here we are.................Cindy and I with the statue of Superman and me being superman

HOW DO I LOOK??????? Guess I should leave it to the real Superman......

The daily planet had KRYPTONITE

METROPOLIS, ILLINOIS

Superman..................and the Daily planet.......

Paducah, Kentucky

the old train is right in front of the murals on the dike. It was 106 that day so we ran for the shade every chance we got.
The Town was beautiful and had some old old buildings. I want to go back and spend a week....

Beautiful down town looked a lot like the French quarters in New Orleans, and just full of little shops.

These statues were on the lawn of the Quilt Museum, Cindy and I went through the museum and had a great time. So many beautiful guilts, and talent.......WOW......

one of the fantastic murals on the dike.

Paducah, Kentucky

The town of Paducah, Kentucky was a awesome town, the dike was built around the river for flood control and they have murals painted on them about the history of their town and shipping on the rivers. The Iowa, Mississipi and Illinois all come together. The history museum was across the street from the murals and was so beautiful.

Manuel's brother and sister in law Frank and Cindy went with us to Paducah. Fun day

Trip into Kansas

Manuel and I are standing in the tracks of Big Brutus big......
Here we are standing in the shovel NOW THIS IS BIG BRUTUS.......................................

THIS IS BIG BRUTUS..........................A shovel for strip minning coal, he was used for a few years but now is just setting there for people like us to see...

Franks big catfish, and yes I think they have the best tasting fish in Missouri. We found this really good restaurant that had all you could eat.

Then we went to a fish fry in Caruthersville, Mo
one hot sunday and in the evening was a Mel McDaniel concert. He is getting old but still a good singer.

Beautiful Bull Sholes Lake

Norfork Lake, think we were still in Mo. but it is mostly in Arkansas. It was so hot that day and we caught a few fish.

NOW WE ALL KNOW Frank (Manuels brother) spoils his dog...... but a dish??????

In Missouri and Arkansas and OK we can pull the boat behind the 5th wheel. It looks small but when we lean it up at end of trailer it is taller than the trailer......

Big Beautiful clouds, can tell I paint huh????

An evening sunset on Bull shols Lake, Missouri side of lake.

This is called the corner post, it is where three states join together, Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas.
Well I got the court house in again..... sorry but it was pretty, still don't know how to take them out..........................
The field is a rice field, we had Manuel stop so we could get out and see the grains of rice. Something new.

The Lake of Bull shols is a huge man made lake that is beautiful, we stayed to weeks in a camp on the lake, enjoyed it.

Lake Wappalpello, in Missour on the East side of the state. We didn't find any part of the lake that was over 6 feet deep. Not to good fishing.

Poplar Bluff, Mo had a really nice train museum, and the day we went was a traveling museum from Nasa so we got two for one.

a beautiful court house in Carthage, Mo. My cousin Jack and wife Melba keep you running all the time you are around them seeing somehting. The court house had a cage elevator Melba and I rode up stairs. That was cool...
Hey here I am again another month and I was going to do some each week, well the whole story is my computer died and so there went my tools....................boo hoo............it is still under warrenty so will send it in as soon as I get home. For now I'm back on and posting the travels..... Elaine

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans parade car look at that inside.......

Picture of Roy Rogers and Trigger

BUTTERFLY PALACE

The fun we didn't get a picture of was the room of mirrors, it was dark inside and mirrors on three sides of the hall so you couldn't tell if you were coming, going or went...........

Shrimp plant is the yellow one on left. Orchid below. Must have been 50 orchids in room.
Beautiful orchids in the tropcial forest.

This butterfly had see through wings.

We saw hundred and hundred of butterflies.

So many beautiful butterflies, they should have got together and posed for us.

The room was like a tropical garden, all of the butterflies were from around the world and none from USA.

They land on the people also some beautiful plants in the room.

This is what he looks like closed and same butterfly above open..... wow what a change.

Well we have spent the whole month in Missouri. The 29th of August we arrived in Poplar Bluff, Mo and left there on Septembeer 19th. We went to Pontiac Cove Campground about 4 miles from Manuel's brother and went fishing almost every day.

This week we went to Branson (third time) and went through the Butterfly House, so many butterflies and they are free to fly around the room with all of the people in there. So neat.
