TOMBSTONE, AZ

BOOTHILL HAD LOTS OF UNMARKED GRAVES

Most of the graves were normal people that died, but as you can tell some were lynched, shot. etc...
This horse drawn hurst and it is now worth 2 million dollars......... I'd sale it ...................This was in the Birdcage Theater along with lots and lots of old stuff. Also things from the movie Tombstone.
You know how big the stage looks in movies? Well it was small probably 10x10........

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

The Birdcage Theater was open for tours, they had antiques etc of the era, plus pictures of Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday and many of the girls that performed in the Theater.

The Silver Nugget was our ice cream stop for the hot afternoon.

The old stagecoach runs up and down the streets of Tombstone every day. Above is Bob, Opal and Manuel with the frame of an old something, they couldn't figure out what it was.

We spent the day in Tombstone, AZ an old western town with a shoot out in the middle of the street. The Ok corral and boothill.

This is Opal standing with her dead boyfriend. He moves still.

Bisbee, AZ

This is a great old town and lots to see and do. The Copper Queen is a huge Motel that has been in Bisbee from day one probably. It is said there are ghost in rooms and halways. They have a book in the check out desk where guests can write down what they fill or hear or see while they are staying at the haunted motel. This year alone there was two full books, quit interesting.

The Beautiful town of Bisbee, AZ, this is Dot's dinner, the lil trailers behind are from the 50's, and can be rented by the night or week. For all of you that read JA Jance books Bisbee is the center of her books wrote in Arizona. (With Sheriff Joanna Bradey.)

The Bisbee Breakfast Club is in old town Bisbee. The picture of Manuel, Opal and Bob is taken at the Copper Mine hole.

This is the Copper Mine Open Pit, Manuel told me. It has very pretty colors on the walls and it is miles and miles for the trucks to go down into the pit. They were taking trucks of dirt, rock etc. down to fill it up when we were there. I'm sure that is going to take years.

New Mexico

As you can tell I was impressed with the reststop restrooms. Because of the beautiful weather they have the rooms were open air. I thought they were neat and Manuel thought I was crazy.

Manuel climbing on the rocks in the City of Rocks, New Mexico.

We drove up on a little hill and took a picture of the City of Rocks. You can walk between and in and around so fun.....
Here we are at the City of Rocks National Park in New Mexico. This was caused by volcano millions of years ago. The volcano through these huge rocks out and made a city. You can walk through the rocks and they have camp sites in and out of the rocks. A day of fun hiking in and out of the rocks and Manuel climbing on them.... not me as I'm afraid of heights.

Our Roadrunner here is at a New Mexico rest stop, made of metal, thought it was very appropiate as we saw so many of the birds in the area. They are quit beautiful birds. And the jackrabbits are huge......

This is the beautiful sunset Deming, New Mexico. We camped at Hidden Valley RV. Which was out of town 5 miles then up a dirt road for 8 more. As we drove into this park we said to each other WHAT ARE WE DOING AND WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Was a very good camp and we met some nice people. They had a sewing day the day we got there so I joined them and made a rug that I had ready to crochet. So we met the group early and signed up for a potluck on Friday night.
We spent several days roaming the desert and finding beautiful rock. As we were on foot we couldn't bring to many back with us. So I want to go again.
